Why am I being asked to sign a policy again? (How policy versions work)
When an admin saves a policy as a new version, everyone has to acknowledge that new version, even if they signed an earlier one.
Steps
For admins, to publish an update: 1. Open the published policy on Team → Policies and click Edit. 2. Make your changes. 3. If the change matters, check This is a new version — everyone must acknowledge again. Leave it unchecked for typo fixes, and existing acknowledgements stay valid. 4. Click Save. With a new version, you’ll see “Saved as version X” and how many members were asked to acknowledge again.
Good to know
- Members see “This policy changed since you acknowledged version X. Please read version Y and confirm.”
- Only published policies have versions. Changes to a draft never create a new version.
- Previous acknowledgements are kept, so admins can see who signed an earlier version (shown as “signed vX”).
- The version number and last-updated date appear under the policy title.
