What is not included in a data export?

Exports leave out passwords, tokens and payment keys, the files themselves (you get download links instead), personal projects, and direct, group and channel chat messages.

Good to know

• Security data: passwords, login tokens, payment gateway keys and encrypted settings are never exported. Payments include only the method, the reference and the card’s type and last four digits.
• Files: the Files dataset lists each file’s details and a download link, not the file contents. Download links still require signing in to WorkHub with access to that file. Policy and certification attachments are also included as links.
• Personal projects: each user’s private personal project and its tasks, files and time logs are left out.
• Chat: direct messages, group chats and channel messages aren’t exported. Only comments on tasks are included (the Comments dataset).
• Not exported: polls and poll votes, channel bookmarks, birthdays and hire dates.
• Anonymous content stays anonymous: anonymous suggestions have no author, and responses to anonymous surveys have no respondent details.
• Spreadsheet safety: cells that start with =, +, - or @ get an apostrophe added in front, so spreadsheet apps don’t run them as formulas. Importing a WorkHub export back in removes the apostrophe.
