How do I give a client access to the client portal?

Open the client’s record, go to “Client Portal Access”, tick “Enabled”, set a password and click “Save access”. Then send the client the portal sign-in address and their password.

Steps

  1. Go to “Clients” and open the client.
  2. Make sure the client has an Email saved. This is their sign-in email.
  3. Under “Client Portal Access”, tick “Enabled”.
  4. Type a password of at least 8 characters in “Set / reset password (min 8 chars)”.
  5. Click “Save access”.
  6. Send the client your WorkHub address followed by /portal/login, along with their password.

Good to know

  • To reset a forgotten password, type a new one with “Enabled” still ticked and click “Save access”. A password typed while Enabled is unticked isn’t saved.
  • To revoke access, untick “Enabled” and save. The client is signed out everywhere immediately.
  • The status at the top shows “Last sign-in” or “Never signed in”.
  • In the portal, clients see their sent, paid and void invoices, their tickets, and the projects linked to them. On those projects they can see each task’s activity timeline, which includes task discussion messages, so keep internal-only conversations off projects you share with clients.
  • “Set the client email before enabling portal access.” appears if the client has no email.
