How do I bill a client for logged hours?
Open the project, go to the “Invoices” tab and click “Bill Hours”. WorkHub creates a draft invoice from all uninvoiced billable time on the project, with one line per task.
Steps
- Open the project and click the “Invoices” tab.
- If it says “No client linked to this project yet.”, click “Link a client” and choose one, or create one.
- Check “Uninvoiced Billable Hours” to see the hours waiting to be billed.
- Click “Bill Hours” and confirm.
- Review the draft invoice. Each line reads like “Task name — 3.5 hrs @ $100.00/hr”. Then click “Send”.
Good to know
- The hourly rate is the client’s “Rate override $” for this project if one is set, otherwise the client’s “Default hourly rate ($)”. The banner shows “no rate set” when neither exists.
- Only time logged as billable is included. “No uninvoiced billable hours for this project.” means there’s nothing to bill.
- Billed time is marked so it can’t be billed twice. Deleting the invoice releases those hours back to uninvoiced.
- You can still add, edit or remove lines before sending.
