Why can't I mark my task complete?
A task can’t be completed while it has unfinished sub-tasks or another open task is blocking it. WorkHub shows “Cannot complete: blocking tasks are not all completed” when this happens.
Steps
- Open the task and click the Related tab.
- Check Blocking This Task and Sub-tasks (Auto-blocking). Every task listed there must be Completed first.
- Complete those tasks, or remove the blocking link with the X if it no longer applies.
- Go back to the task and set its status to Completed again.
Good to know
- On the task page, the status button may briefly show Completed even though the change was refused. Reload the page to see the real status.
- In bulk updates, blocked tasks are skipped and listed as “blocked by open dependencies”.
- If none of the buttons respond and you see “Your account is read-only”, your account has the Viewer role.
- Completing a repeating task automatically creates its next occurrence.
