How do I attach files to a task?
Open the task, click the Documents tab, and click Upload. You can also drag files onto the drop area or paste a screenshot.
Steps
- Open the task and click the Documents tab.
- Under Attach to, choose This task (only this task) or Project (all tasks) (shared with every task in the project).
- Upload in any of these ways:
- Click Upload and choose one or more files.
- Drag files onto the “Drop files here…” area.
- Copy a screenshot and press Ctrl+V / Cmd+V while the Documents tab is open (not while typing in a box).
- A progress bar shows each upload. The file then appears in the list.
- To attach a web link instead (for example a Google Doc), click Add link, paste the address (it must start with http:// or https://), and optionally give it a name.
Good to know
- The Documents tab shows two sections: This task and Project files (shared across all tasks).
- The size limit per file is shown in the drop area (up to 50 MB, or less if your server has a lower limit).
- Images, PDFs and plain text open in your browser. Other files download.
- Viewers can see and download files but can’t upload.
- Tip: go straight to the tab by adding #documents to the end of a task’s link.
